Dragon year celebration party!
ACCA_south celebrated the coming of dragon year on Jan 22nd in the lobby of callaway building with great food and Chinese new yeaer decorations. Principal General Yan celecbrated the Chinese new year with ACCA_south students and teachers. The students enjoyed the food, riddles, and games and prize. It was a great starting for the dragon year!
2011-2012年南校新学年开学信息Emory University Campus Information
1. The First day of Chinese class is on 01/08/2012 (12:30-4:20).
2. Class registration will continue from 12:00 pm at south campus. Please pass on the registration form to your friends. We welcome new students at least 5 years old for grade 1 (Registration form).
3. Enrichment classes will start on 01/15/2012 from 12:30pm to 4:30pm. We have the following enrichment classes:
Children’s Art, Chinese painting, Sketch, Adult Latin and Adult yoga.

All students and teachers are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes earlier before the class starts, the parents on duty arrive 15 minutes early to make the classroom ready for teachers and kids, and clean up after class.

1. 值班家长应在上课前15 分钟到达学校.
2. 在老师到达以前, 值班家长应负责维护教室秩序和周围环境, 把上课所需添加的课桌及椅子搬好, 做好课前准备。
3. 上课时值班家长应在教室内帮助老师收发作业，分发上课材料等。如果需要，可帮助老师维持课堂纪律。
4. 在上课时如有学生因故离开教室时, 值班家长应注意引导学生返回教室, 同时注意这孩子是否有异常现象。
5. 如有学生在上课时或课间有身体不适等情况, 值班家长应及时与学校校务会联系。
6. 课间休息时, 注意维护走廊安静, 教室整洁。 劝阻学生不能在走廊外奔跑和叫喊, 不能玩弄或破坏教室和大楼内各种书刊及设备, 不能随地丢垃圾。 如发生以上事项, 值班家长应给予劝阻, 并及时向校方报告。肇事学生家长负责赔偿损失。
7. 下课后帮助老师检查、清理教室。在所有学生安全离开教室后, 把所添加的课桌椅搬回原处, 在第三校舍值班的家长, 应帮助清理教室, 在确保完成值责后, 值班家长方可卸任。
8. 楼道值班家长应注意维护走廊安静, 停车场的行人安全。
9. 如有紧急情况不能到岗时, 可自行与其他家长商量对调. 若临时安排不到人, 请及时通知校务会总务长 (最好在上课前24小时之前通知)。
10. 为执行和落实中文学校守则, 为保证学校的正常运转, 经解释及劝阻后, 仍不遵守以上规章制度的极个别家长, 学校实施 $30 罚款 制度。

亚特兰大现代中文学校南校学生家长：
亚特兰大现代中文学校在亚特兰大的中文教育方面正发挥着越来越大的作用。在国外学习中文的一个不足之处就是孩子们学习中文的时间太少。上中文学校每周只有两个小时，但有大量的中文作业。诚然, 要熟练掌握中文，必须要花很多时间来进行课外练习。但对于双职工家庭来说，下班回家后就已经比较晚，等做完家务吃完晚饭后基本上就该督促孩子睡觉以便第二天可以早起上学, 没有时间每天督促孩子做中文作业。不少家长反映辅导和督促孩子做中文家庭作业是一件很头疼的事。另一方面，孩子在after school里基本上就是让人给看着等着家长给接回家。
为了让孩子们有更多的时间学习中文，减轻家长的负担，利用after school的时间辅导和督促孩子们学习中文、完成中文作业，中文学校南校决定在Lilburn地区办一个中文课后辅导班。 作为试点，这个课后辅导班开在Kids R Kids (#10)的afterschool, 每周一三五下午4:30-5:30进行中文辅导。 Kids R Kids (#10)有专门的bus接收Arcado, Camp Creek, Mountain Park小学的学生，owner愿意安排教室并对注册他那里afterschool孩子收费给予一定的优惠。中文学校将从参加辅导的学生收取适当的学费(参考中文学校现在标准暂定为$200/学期/孩子)。 老师将由中文学校有丰富教学经验的老师担任，师生比例不低于1：12. 如果您的孩子注册Kids R Kids (#10)的afterschool($70/week)就可以报名参加这个辅导班。Kids R Kids (#10)给ACCA学生10% group discount for afterschool care.
